The species-distribution maps and other information will be collated into a book and interactive CD on all mammal species in San Diego County. We intend these to stand as definitive references on the distribution, biology, conservation, and management of mammals in the region. Each native mammal species will have its own detailed chapter summarizing what we know (and don’t know) about it, presented in a clear and simple format.

Additional chapters will provide species-identification keys and describe general aspects of mammalian biology, conservation, and management, as outlined below.
